A response to trump's response to the Kirk situation

So, another short one, but I do want to address the response trump gave to the Kirk situation. He kind of responded as expected, claiming lefties' incendiary rhetoric is causing this kind of violence and trying to crack down on it.

First, I want to reiterate that violence against conservatives is not okay. Kirk was just a commentator. He was a debate bro. Quite frankly, he was like me but more successful and had the backing of billionaires. Which I find distasteful (the billionaire part) but he shouldn't have died for it.

Second, to trump, I want to reiterate what I said after his own assassination attempt. If trump wants us to stop calling him a fascist, he should stop acting like one. If the gop wants me to stop calling them evil, they should stop advocating for evil things.

Third, law enforcement crackdowns in response to this just prove my point. Trump uses catastrophes like this to justify cracking down on our civil liberties more. He wants to go after the left for calling out the right on their bs. But we're supposed to have free speech and have the right to say what we want unless it was so incendiary it incites political violence. He's trying to vaguely connect critical rhetoric of the right to violence, but such incitement must present a clear and present danger and be the equivalent of shouting fire in a crowded movie theater. Even trump's whole "fight like hell" speech on January 6th was kinda borderline and the case for it in fact being incitement only makes sense in a context of the events and his obvious intent.

As such claiming lefties making comments demonizing conservatives as evil don't really count here and trump is just politicizing this tragedy for his own gains.

Any idiot could have told people this before this event happened but sadly most criminals are often idiots and literally lack impulse control or the ability to do future planning. Ie, they don't think through their actions. As such, I ask that people not judge the entire left as calling for violence when we criticize the right.

And again if the right doesn't like our criticisms, maybe the right shouldn't do blatantly evil and authoritarian things. My criticisms are of 1) the trump administration and 2) the conservative Christian ideological worldview as I understand it.

And I DO NOT call for violence or endorse it here. Thank you for your attention on this matter (to do the trump thing lately).
