So, Kyle covered this, and I wanted to discuss it. Look, I've said before that this second trump term, there are some really scary people behind the scenes, and this guy is one of them. He's the OMB chairman, and, to paraphrase my political science 101 professor, you cant do anything in washington without going through the OMB. They have the ultimate power of the purse, and if you wonder where all of this extreme small government stuff is coming from in the trump administration, its from him.
And yeah. If you watched the video, you can see that this guy sees power as a means to an end and is trying to force his batcrap insane small government stuff on everyone. I keep saying it. We're fighting a WORLDVIEW here. An extremist ideology. That's what motivates the right. This stuff doesnt surprise me that much. I've watched the GOP get more extreme over the course of my life, and people were talking like this back in like 2011 when I started thinking about leaving the GOP. And this is one of the reasons I became a leftie, because I realized, it wasn't just the implementation of the ideas that's the problem, the entire ideology is problematic and rotten to its core.
But yeah, these guys have been wanting to push these crazy ideas for a while, and now they have power, and they're trying to break our institutions and push things as hard as they can in their direction, and they're trying to, as I pointed out in the previous post, have permanent minority rule. They are going for the jugular. They are pushing a radical agenda to cut the government to the bone, with DOGE and all those cuts being the brainchildren of, well, these people, and they are trying to undermine elections to ensure they go their way.
I'd like to say that at least the GOP used to respect the constitution and rule of law on paper, but let's face it, they didn't, even in 2012 they wanted to do voter ID laws here in PA to shift things toward Mitt Romney.
But yeah. Trump is just a puppet. I dont think he has an ideology, other than keeping power at all costs (and here he aligns with these guys), and his stupid MAGA crap of putting tariffs on the rest of the world and deporting immigrants. But...the GOP behind him has an ideology, and they have an infrastructure. And in his second term, these guys are trying to make their dreams come true. And they're trying to destroy or compromise democracy to make their actions impossible to reverse. This isn't good. Which is why the left needs to get good at politics RIGHT FRICKING NOW. We gotta fight them the way they fight us. That's why I made the post about judicial retentions. They wanna push liberal judges out to push their agenda, we need to push back by voting "yes" on that. We gotta fight as hard as we can, peacefully, and within the democratic system of course, to reverse and undermine their nonsense. We need democracy to survive through 2026 and 2028, so we can bring our own people back, and get these guys out of power. ANd above all, we gotta fight these guys on WORLDVIEW terms, to push them out of politics and the overton window as a whole. We need to send a message in no uncertain terms, that this is not okay, that this is not what we the people want, and if anything, we want the opposite. I want trump to be synonymous with jimmy carter, herbert hoover, james buchanan, etc. Ya know, the really really crappy guy who was in before the really really good guy gets in. If we cant get our acts together, we're toast. This is the realignment. We're descending into this authoritarian fascist state run by these extremist conservatives. So we gotta survive the next few years, come back, and take power with such an overwhelming mandate that the GOP cant win again without significantly moderating like they did in the 1950s.
We've been nice for long, for the left, we can't afford to be mr nice guy here. Because look at what they're doing to us. They're legally demolishing us. And it won't be long before we're a one party state at this rate. So democrats, do the right thing for once in your life and go scorched earth against these guys. We gotta stop playing checkers while they're playing chess and are now one move from checkmating us. And not only does this need to be fought in the election booths, but also on the debate stage in this country. The left needs to be ideological. We need a vision that actually calls out and counters these guys. Luckily, I've been working on that since like 2012, because I actually understand these guys, what they're about, and I'm mostly the polar opposite of them.
