So the left seems united on this: we need actual leadership

 So...after writing that massive spiel about how we need bold leadership and democrats willing to fight for something, it seems like most people are on the same page. The 2026 midterms represents a possible once in a generation realignment toward the democrats. However, at this point, the democrats' greatest enemy is themselves. If we get weak leaders like chuck schumer or hakeem jeffries who dont do anything with this newfound power we just unlocked, we will lose it and the republicans will come back. On the flip side, the republican party looks like it's cooked. Once again, if the democrats take advantage of this, they can remain cooked, and given how awful they are, they SHOULD remain cooked, but their biggest ticket back is weak democrats not doing anything with their power, causing the public to lose faith in them and elect republicans again.

With that said, if Jeffries and Schumer are our next leaders, they need to fricking read the room and understand that we actually want leaders who can deliver. We need an economically progressive agenda to bring costs down, and we need to hold the trump administration accountable for its abuses. PERIOD. Not delivering on this is non negotiable. if you dont, you will lose in the future, and we will get MAGA coming back in an even worse form.

So yeah. Either we need to replace these guys as leaders of the house and senate, and I know some are already suggesting replacing schumer in the senate, or these guys need to grow a spine and some balls REALLY REALLY fast. We cant afford to have weak leadership centered around doing nothing and sending strongly worded letters. you got majorities in both houses, USE THEM. Pass bills, do investigations. I dont expect the bills to make it past trump's desk. I dont expect the investigations to reach the impossibly high bars to actually remove people from office. But show you're trying, show you're working. Do what you can. And when you can't, at least show the people you tried and leave the blame at the feet of the republicans and Trump. That way people will get pissed off and vote for even BLUER waves in the next election, until the obstruction is overcome. That's how you win. but you gotta try, and you gotta fight. If you do nothing, the public will be like wtf did we vote for and then get pissed, stay home, and the republicans will win again. And we really REALLY dont want that. not in this era of fascism. 

So yeah. We got off our ###es and voted, the politicians elected gotta get off of theirs and deliver.
