So....Chrissy Houlahan is my representative. She was also among those who voted to censure Al Green today. Pathetic. Truly pathetic. Ya know, I never liked Houlahan. Quite frankly, she's a philly suburb moderate, and I just happened to be lumped into her district since districts have like 800k people in them now because we still have the same number of representatives that we did back in 1929. She's not for medicare for all, she's "bipartisan" to a fault, and she basically appeals to the fake democrats who are actually republicans who live in places like Chester county.
But, today, she hit a new low. She voted to censure Al Green over his stunt the other night. Honestly? I think that every democrat should have joined Al Green. The entire democratic party should have walked out on Trump. Trump is a fascism. He doesn't deserve decorum. Decorum is reserved for those who respect democracy. If Trump were a more normal republican, okay, maybe the censure people have a point. Trump doesn't respect the rules or decorum himself though, so democrats should fight fire with fire.
Ya know, I was actually polled by what I am only guessing was Houlahan's internal polling last year. They asked a lot of detailed questions, including about Houlahan in particular. I told them to drop the bipartisan schtick and to fight the GOP more. She apparently didn't listen. Do the democrats even listen to their constituents any more? it doesn't feel like it. I feel like democratic voters are finally at a breaking point where they're where I was 10 years ago when wanted them to aggressively push back against the GOP....and the dems are...as useless as ever. Even given the very obvious losses they've faced, they STILL won't change, won't adapt to the times, and voters are pissed. It's been said the environment in the democratic party in 2025 is the same as the GOP in 2009. They're not wrong in a way. Even tepid resist libs are starting to want to actually fight for things sometimes. Not all of them. Some are still clueless and insisting WELL IF YOU JUST VOTED FOR THE DEMOCRATS LIKE WE TOLD YOU NONE OF THIS WOULD'VE HAPPENED, not understanding that the democrats failed because the they refused to embrace change and listen to people. But I'm seeing people FINALLY shift to where I've been at since 2012 now.
Not Chrissy Houlahan though. She's remaining a relic of the past, and stuck in this whole "yay decorum", "yay bipartisanship" mindset. I may not vote for her in 2026 if she keeps this up. I mean, okay, it's one thing to be like "you're not for UBI and medicare for all", it's another to be like "you're not even doing the bare minimum to fight fascism, if anything you're being their useful idiot and punishing the people who DID act." No votes for enablers. I hope she gets primaried and replaced at this point.
