Why liberals hate leftists

 So, I hear this a lot in leftist circles. Why, oh why, do liberals hate leftists?

Oh, I don't know? Maybe because you crap on us constantly?

And don't get me wrong here. I aint really in line with a lot of liberals. A lot of liberals Im totally with leftists in pointing at them and calling them craplibs, but the amount of gatekeeping I've seen in recent years is ridiculous.

Seriously, we can agree with "the left" 99% of the time, but the second we express that other 1%, we'll be ripped to shreds over it. The amount of time these people spend crapping on potential allies who agree with them in principle 80%+ of the time is ridiculous.

I mean, I can purity test, and if I have disagreements with people, I'll express them, but to some extent I gotta make a decision to go with whomever best represents my views. And AT BEST i may only get 70-80% agreement. But that's okay. I pick a few issues i really care about, and then with the rest, I'm more flexible and willing to compromise. Maybe it's a difference in what those ride or die issues are vs what issues we're willing to compromise are, but I'm REALLY getting sick of gatekeeping leftists.

I got told today that being "liberal" socially rather than leftist makes me a right winger, I mean, WHAT?! Basically, these guys literally do see anyone who isn't a socialist or a SJW cultist as a right winger, it's absurd.

I'm gonna be blunt, you guys dont even know what right wing is any more. Right wingers on social issues are typically authoritarian. And while librights exist, they often seem to have the same views as the auth rights, they just think that they should be enforced through non state means in my experience.

I actually am progressive socially. I support freedoms like a right to an abortion, access to birth control, gay rights, trans rights, legal equality among people. But that ain't enough. Unless my entire worldview is based on postmodernism and that social justice nonsense, I'm a rightoid to them. I might as well be a nazi. it's ridiculous.

Ya know what? Screw these people, man. This is why I've rebranded my social progressivism to centrism. Because to me, I see horseshoe theory at work. The far left is starting to ironically remind me of the far right. Even if they hate each other, the fact that both are illiberal and authoritarian and come to similar conclusions in controlling people for different reasons make them seem like the opposite side of the same coin. They generally are extremely far apart ideologically, but in practice, they actually are scarily similar. And I have to say no to both these guys.

So yeah. If you guys wanna classify liberalism as conservatism, then I'm just gonna call myself a centrist to differentiate myself from both of the crazy authoritarian extremes. I still consider myself largely on the left in terms of the american political spectrum. I mean, im more progressive than people like hillary clinton and joe biden. But that, again, isn't enough for them. I'm still a "right winger" if I'm that progressive. I need to be crazy far left, or I'm a right winger. Again, screw these guys. I ain't dealing with them, I ain't giving them any breathing room in debates. Just...screw them. 

Same with the economic stuff. I've really come to a conclusion after rereading Yang's books and Bernie's "It's Okay to be Angry about Capitalism", that compared to your typical internet leftist, even BERNIE is a FREAKING MODERATE. Seriously. The fact that he would praise biden and work with him pisses these people off. These people are attacking AOC lately too. For endorsing biden. Not even I would outright endorse biden at this time. Like, I'm still riding the williamson train, but I've warmed up to biden enough where he's kinda sorta an acceptable option to me. Not as good as I'd like, but let's face it, nobody is, and unlike these leftists I'm willing to take that into consideration and still endorse the closest reasonable option at any given time. Even if I sometimes badmouth those same options on this blog. Because let's face it, we all know I can be a purity testing A-hole too. The difference is, I'm willing, after expressing those disagreements, still weigh my options and endorse the best guy. A lot of these idiots dont even support electoralism. They're so purist that they end up falling into this camp of electoralism is a waste of time so they LARP online all day about being the vanguard of some revolution that's never gonna come. I admit, I can sometimes basically be like "F these democrats man, they want me to vote for them but offer nothing", but you know what I do? I vote green, or write in someone or something. I at least express my opinion. But again, these guys are so illiberal they don't even believe in operating within the system at all. They just love to talk crap about everyone else, purity test the everloving crap out of them, but at the end of the day, they believe in the system so little they believe their little "direct actions" are the more effective tool at getting crap done. Even if it's violent, even if it breaks the system, even if it goes against the principles that the system is built on. Because THESE leftists dont believe in the system at all. And that's what makes them distinct in their eyes. 

And that's also why they tend to operate as they do with till lindemann and rammstein. They KNOW that when they take till to court, if this makes it to court, that till will likely be found innocent. They ultimately dont believe in a system in which people should be treated as innocent until proven guilty. Because they understand that sexual abusers often are found innocent instead of guilty and they dont like it. So that's why they're screeching into the void online trying to cancel concerts, trying to discourage people from listening to them, and trying to ruin their lives. They dont believe in the system, so they wanna take matters into their own hands. This is a very dangerous attitude to take.

And if this is ultimately what seems to separate liberals from leftists, then yeah, screw leftists. Because that's NUTS. They're no better than the trumpers who stormed the capitol at that point. Because ultimately, they would do the same thing as long as it was THEIR side calling for it. For all their talk about being anti fascist, they have so much in common with actual fascists that it scares me. So yeah, screw these guys.

I'm a liberal, I'm a centrist, and on social issues, I'll take that as a badge of honor.

On economics, I guess you could say I still fall closer to liberalism than leftism, but honestly, I hate both. I believe we need more changes than the liberals are willing to allow, but still less than the weirdo leftists who want to have a revolution to get what they want. Like....screw me for believing in social democracy or human centered capitalism or something, right? Screw all nuance. I must be a craplib, more in line with Biden than them. 

It's funny, for as much crap as I've given centrists, liberals, and democrats over the years, given how crazy the online left is, I almost feel like I have more in common with them at this point than this new breed of internet leftists. Again, I didn't sign up for this crap. I just wanted UBI, medicare for all, and free college. I don't want to be the vanguard of the next communist revolution, or sit around all day talking about power imbalances in gender relations and how a lot of consensual sex is actually rape. That isn't my thing, that isn't what I'm here for. This is getting ridiculous. So yeah. F these guys.

I still might vote for some leftists if they actually support policies I like, but other than that, yeah, I really don't consider them to be any more of a political ally of mine than the smarmy centrist neolibs who I also hate. Or, in some cases, the actual right for that matter.
