Seriously, out of all of the issues, why this one? Why is THIS one the one you guys have to treat as a hill to die on...or a street to glue your hands to? WHY?! It's a conflict half way across the world. It doesn't even affect us.
The reality is no one likes these people, no one cares. And yes, most people are against giving Israel money for weapons. But it's not out of the goodness of their hearts. It's because they don't want their taxpayer money going to conflicts half way across the world while their own local budgets are being cut. See the cardi b rant for example. If youre gonna be against this crap this is the kind of stuff you should be saying. To pitch stuff to americans, you need to appeal to their self interest. Doing this holier than thou look at me im so empathetic and have the moral high ground crap doesn't convince anyone of anything. It just ends up alienating and polarizing people.
The left better learn this or it will face electoral oblivion like the generation before us.
I'm not even saying being anti israel or pro palestine is necessarily a bad thing. It's more the energy with which you express it more than anything. I can respect someone who is pro palestine is they respectfully express their views with reason and logic. Heck I've had people do it before and had some interesting convos with them. The problem is these weirdo protesters who decide to block up streets and disrupt americans' lives to get attention. THe more disruptive you are, the more people are gonna push back against you. You're just alienating them. It literally creates a negative visceral reaction in some people. And with me, an ex conservative, yeah, not the energy that made me join the left in the first place. At all.
You realize if i was back in 2011 and i was a questioning republican you guys would have such a bad time winning me over? Really. Liberals like Biden wouldn't have much of an issue. But the hard left? No. Because this kind of stuff just creates a visceral negative reaction in me that makes me less likely to be sympathetic or take you seriously. You sound like whack jobs to me when you do this stuff. No one cares. Shut up and get out of the street. if you cant do it peacefully, then don't do it at all.
