Cenk Uygur is out

So, Cenk Uygur has just announced he is suspending his campaign as well. I know I didn't take his campaign as seriously because he wasn't a natural born citizen, didn't have a fleshed out policy page, and seemed to be over the top on outrage over gaza to the point it seemed to be the focal point of his entire campaign, but yeah, he's out. He talked about how hard it is to run for president, how the system is against him, and also the failures of the justice democrats he helped elect. And Im not gonna lie, he's not wrong. The democrats did actively suppress any real sense of a primary. And honestly, I really think that what glimmer we had was snuffed out by leftists being more interested in voting for "uncommitted" and "cease fire now" than any actual candidate. It seems clear that 2024 isn't our year. and just like Cenk said, we need to start preparing for 2028 now, we need a candidate who is ready to go and to start building support now. I kind of agree. And we need someone who is somewhat polished with a good platform. When i think about the failures of this election cycle, it's the fact that besides maybe marianne williamson, no candidate put forth a serious set of policies. Bernie in 2016 was electable not just because of his character but his policies. Yang in 2020 had policies. Policy is what wins me over. We need candidates to really go hard on policy going into 2028. And honestly, lefties need to get their ducks in a row of getting over these stupid cease fire now vanity campaigns. This crap isn't gonna solve anything long term. Not saying anyone had a chance anyway, but imagine voting for not even a person, but a write in or going uncommitted over a candidate with actual policy. It's sickening to see Marianne Williamson at 2-3% and uncommitted getting 7-20%. Wtf, leftists. But I digress.

But yeah, we need to get our ducks in a row for 2028 if we want to actually get taken seriously. It's gonna be an open primary year. Hopefully people will be so sick of Biden by then the masses will be screaming for a candidate who isn't a corporate hack, and maybe someone will have a shot. I hope so. And hopefully we won't have trump on the republican ticket again. Although to be fair, I think he likely has early stage dementia and won't even know what planet he's on by 2028. Still, I hope his movement kinda starts falling apart in his absence and that they wont find success gravitating to nuts like marjorie taylor green or vivek ramaswamy. I really don't have any idea what the national environment will even look like 4 years from now. It depends on who wins and what happens between now and then. But yeah, I do suspect that we will hopefully have a better shot at winning something than we do here in 2024. This really ain't our year. The left is too messed up right now, and despite no one seemingly wanting Biden, it seems clear that after considering all of the possible alternatives, we keep coming back around to "ugh, Biden it is, I guess..." That's just the reality of it. So let's just get this guy reelected and then in 2028 we can hopefully start over with a new slate.
