Briefly discussing the SCOTUS decision to put Trump back on the ballot

So, remember how Colorado and a couple other states removed Trump from the ballot over his support for an insurrection and how it went to court? Well, SCOTUS has spoken. In a 9-0 decision, they put Trump back on the ballot and said that states don't have this power, only congress does, and that's that. And, you know what? Fair. I'm not gonna spend a ton of time going over this, but to be fair, I wasn't really sure of the legal procedure for how this was supposed to work, and I'm glad the court decided to outline it for us. Also, for everyone claiming this was a partisan decision, no it really wasn't. The decision wasn't 6-3 or 5-4, with the conservative justices on one side and the liberals on another, this was a 9-0 decision. It was unanimous. Everyone agreed, generally speaking. Now, where was some nuance among competing decisions between different justices over the extent of the decision, but generally speaking, they all agreed.

I mean, there you have it. again, if it WAS partisan, I would also be rolling my eyes and going "of course!" in my best Cenk Uygur voice. But again, 9-0? Yeah, you dont get that often with SCOTUS any more. When you get a 9-0 decision, basically, you have no argument. You lost. You have no ground to stand on, the court is normally right, move on. Really, the law is clear at that point and 9-0 decisions are ones that are normally safe to refer to as precedent, with very little room to overturn them. Because everyone freaking agreed. it wasn't like there were 2 competing interpretations of judicial philosophy here. That's what happened with Roe. It was a liberal decision conservatives bitterly disagreed with so they packed the court until they got their way. And now we gotta pack the court the other way to get it back. Which means electing democrats for president and senate (yes yes im starting to sound like a hillbot, im still not blue no matter who, dont worry about it). This decision, though, wasnt partisan. It was "nope, colorado is wrong, period." We got no wiggle room. We need to literally try this mofo for his crimes at this point, given he just clinched the republican nomination basically.
