So...after the discussion earlier today about how dems don't actually cater to white men properly, I can't help but kinda see it everywhere. I went back to one of my old stomping grounds for political discussion and one of the top comments was some self righteous tiktok about how if you vote green for palestine, you're throwing omg the women and the minorities and the trans people under the bus (once again having to self righteously beat the dead horse mentioning each and every group one after another, idk what it is with these people) and they're gonna lose their rights, and then they're gonna be too busy fighting for progressive change because they're gonna be too bust crowdfunding trips to canada with abortion and how hey at least you have the moral high ground.
And honestly, it's just the most obnoxious and self righteous nonsense in general. I know it's not Harris and her campaign that's doing this, it's internet progressives and leftists, but omfg, stop it, this stuff is alienating, and once again, the message I get from this is "well we have to care for the underprivileged, we dont care about your priorities, and if we lose our rights due to project 2025 we're still not gonna care because w'ere gonna be too busy fighting for our BS anyway'. Like...gee, thanks guys. So basically, you're not gonna do anything to actually win people over on the issues that drive people to vote third party in the first place, you're just gonna continue to obnoxiously do the SJW virtue signalling and digging in with the voter shaming. Thanks.

Most people dont CARE about this stuff. because they have their concerns. I know that this was aimed at people going on about palestine, and yeah i get it, they're also a bunch of moralizing weirdos and I don't like them either, but people need to stop shaming people over all of this social justice crap. The best way to win on social justice issues is to make people not care. If you make people care and pick a side, you're so obnoxious that you make people wanna pick the side that isn't you. Which is the trumpers. Which is, again, how we get the divorced guy who hates women vs 20 year old SJW who hates men dynamic in the 2 parties.
Again, go back to gay rights. How did we win on gay rights? We won on gay rights by making people not care. We win on social justice causes today by making people not care, by depolarizing them on the issue and making the right look weird for caring so much. What you don't do is shame people for not putting other peoples' priorities above their own. Again, I know the purpose of said tiktok was to push palestine, but having voted third party in other election cycles, and knowing what it's like to have other causes than the social justice ones the left just wants to obsess over, it's alienating.
And then the whole idea that we cant focus on other issues until all this social justice stuff is taken care of? Like, that stuff just makes us wanna go "F YOU GUYS!" Because you're NEVER gonna address other peoples' concerns. This stuff is a perpetual outrage machine. You guys just keep creating new waves of feminism with more insular and out of touch concerns, you keep moving the goalposts on LGBT+ rights to being from being okay to merely exist to omg I dont feel included in society because blah blah blah gendered sports. And it NEVER. EVER. ENDS. And with trump and those guys putting the left on the defense, they're never gonna stop either. It's just gonna be the next 40 years of OMG THEYRE COMING FOR OUR RIGHTS every fricking election, and you're never gonna do F all for the people who actually are turned off from this crap.
So, NO, guys, NO, YOU have to change. You need to stop being so smarmy and self righteous with the identity politics bullcrap and expecting the world to revolve around YOU. Again, political movements are coalitional, and a lot of us independents who are like white males and stuff arent really part of your coalition...because you won't make us part of your coalition. Because you don't give a crap about us. You just wanna go on about everyone else and their stuff ALL THE FRICKING TIME!
Why am I getting so angry over this? I mean, I voted for Harris after all, SURE, but you're LITERALLY LOSING OTHER VOTERS and we are actually at a very real risk of trump winning again, because these idiots can't shut up and stop alienating people for like 5 minutes. You guys are all the right talks about. They literally exist to thrive off of your tears. Because you ALIENATE them. I've been saying it since 2016, as an ex right winger who is white male, stop, you're making them stronger.
And beyond that, I get angry because as a "bernie bro", I know what it's like to have legitimate concerns like UBI and healthcare and to be told by these people they're not gonna do screw all for us, but hey we need to STFU and fall in line and check your privilege. Which...quite frankly...just makes me WANNA vote green in elections. It really really does. Because not only are you not open to addressing concerns I have, you're antagonistic toward me and my concerns.
So yeah. I really am gonna say it. If you want Harris to win, STOP, PLEASE STOP! Really, I don't think you guys realize how ALIENATING you are. You think this shaming works because people have a common worldview that is sympathetic to your arguments, but we don't. Well..maybe the free palestine kiddies do. I've been saying from the start social justice brainrot is what leads to sympathy for the palestinian side of things (well, beyond just general humanitarian outrage at israel's campaign going too far). But for the rest of us, the independents who are pissed over grocery prices, the bernie bros who just want healthcare and better economics, no, we don't necessarily share your super social justice oriented worldview. And as such, trying to shove that stuff down our throats is not only ineffective, it's counterproductive, so STOP!
Really. I just can't help but see it after someone pointed it out to me. I thought we were improving on this, and I guess the harris campaign itself is, but the left's culture in general is inundated by this crap, and ultimately, it has to stop, and it has to change. This stuff drives normies away from us and makes us look like a bunch of weirdos who don't care about them. So stop it.
