So yeah. That rally. The one with the super racist speakers saying super offensive things. Uh...maybe I'm just "coping" here, but as a PA resident, I could see that rally just handing Harris PA. Because we have a large latino population here. Latinos have been a demographic that democrats have been trying to court for a while now due to their "idpol above all else" mentality, but they've been failing at it since it has a "hello fellow kids" vibe and then they push their stupid latinX stuff down peoples' throats and yeah. Latinos arent actually into social progressivism to some degree. At least not the insular kind. And a lot of them seem to like Trump, especially the men. There's a culture of machismo there, they're also very catholic, making them socially conservative, and Trump actually does relatively well there despite the tough on the border rhetoric.
but....that speaker...just insulted them. And people are taking notice. I watched some of Tim Walz and AOC playing video games online and they talked about it, and how PA latinos should take notice. And they are. Today my city's latino mayor was on fricking cable news condemning the statements, as well as the mayors of several other cities with large latino populations. They're interviewing people and a lot of people who were looking into going Trump just...aren't now.
Now, do I expect this to make a massive difference? No. Given how much crap the Trump campaign has said and done this year, I kind of expect a lot of people to go for the guy no matter what he or his surrogates say. And I don't think it will make a huge difference. But keep in mind, Trump is only 0.5% ahead, the tipping point is PA, and yeah....if we an shift the minds of even 1% of voters over this, it's over for Donnie here.
And JD Vance is just coming out like "i didnt listen to what was said, but you're all being too sensitive over jokes and you need to get over it." Now, I'm gonna be honest, I'm not the most PC guy in the world. But uh...this is kind of the hard stuff that hasnt been acceptable in our society...for decades now. And some people might share these jokes behind closed doors, but they don't actually say this stuff in public...because it's not acceptable, and anyone with half a brain knows it...
So...yeah, Vance is an idiot here. I'm not saying that what this guy said should get people arrested, but if I were part of the voters in question, would I be voting for Trump after this? HELL NO. And I think a lot of people are kinda waking up. Trump's movement keeps delving into this kind of hard racism more and more. They've been talking about immigrants eating dogs and cats. They've been pushing this stuff. I mean, it's pretty clear the movement is racist and appeals to racists. As some people I know say, MAGA should be known as "MAWA", "make america white again", because let's face it, they're made up of the most outright racist segments of society. The neonazis, the confederate apologists, ya know, all of those losers. And this has been known for a while. The movement was showing signs of getting dangerous late in the election in 2020. And this time it's really getting off the rails.
Y'all are electing Nazis, guys. These guys are Nazis. Let's go full godwin's law on this. They ARE nazis. They are authoritarians, they're racists, they're xenophobes, and they're DANGEROUS.
Really. We have not had a threat to america this serious in decades. The last time we were here it was the 1930s during the depression. Fascism was on the rise around the world, we had the communists running around, and FDR had to save america and liberal democracy from itself. Looking back at FDR i cant agree with all actions he's taken. he did, for example, condemn us to lifetimes of "full employment". BUT...let's face it, America could've done far worse in the 1930s than THAT. We could've fallen to fascism or communism. We had fascists marching in MSG back in the 1930s. people are comparing this to that. And they're not wrong. This is psychotic. Dont vote for Trump.
