So, this question has been asked a lot today by a lot of commentators I listen to, both in establishment media and the anti establishment left. Harris and Walz are storming the swing states and drawing in truly massive crowd sizes, and Trump does some rally in Montana or something (yes, it's montana, but montana is insignificant enough on the presidential level it doesn't matter, he's doing this for the senate seat). And it's baffling to some. I mean, the dude's losing his shirt in the polls. He's still winning, but the race is narrowing significantly and his electoral college lead is only 1.5%. That's WELL within the margin of error and it looks worse in almost every poll that comes out. But the dude just doesn't do rallies.
I mean, he used to do rallies. Before the incident. And then he was at the RNC. But since the RNC? Yeah, he's done almost no rallies. he does press conferences where he just rambles like a madman, but his old school rallies? He's only done like 1-2 of them since then. Is it because he's old as some commentators say? Can't handle it any more, being a 78 year old obese man who lives on McDonalds? I don't think so. He actually seemed to have a pretty active schedule until...well...the incident.
Which brings us to the real question, is he scared? Has he been traumatized by his assassination attempt? Honestly? i think this is it. The dude hasnt been absent from public life. he gives speeches at mar a lago. he does events with security like the RNC, that black conference last week, that press conference he did yesterday that i didnt bother watching because why give him another moment of my life than I have to? (the RNC broke me and I HATE listening to the guy). And the Montana rally these days was indoors in a closed stadium. Which...we're kind of seeing a trend. He's doing events where there's security. Indoor events. Events where there are metal detectors, where people are searched coming in, events where the environment is controlled.
I think the dude was traumatized by "the incident" where he's afraid someone's gonna take a shot at him again. Seriously think about it. he survived, but a bullet came about 1-2 inches from ending his life. I don't think he wants to do his normal rallies again. I think he's scared. He might have PTSD from the event. Who knows. Cant blame the guy. Anyway, if it were anyone else I might feel sorry for them, but with Trump, i'm like, okay, cool anything that weakens him electorally is an asset. If he's too scared to campaign and loses because of it, I'm perfectly happy with that outcome.
And yeah. That's my take on it. I don't think he's too lazy, or too tired. I think he's just scared someone's gonna shoot at him again. I can't blame the guy given the circumstances, but yeah. I think that incident really freaked him out and now he's afraid to do his normal large scale outdoor rallies and refuses to do anything that takes him outside of his comfort zone. And that's probably why he's not campaigning as much as he used to.
